I love all the big family holidays, like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Next month I am hosting the Color Challenge at Deco-Pages.com, special thanks to Lorene Hill who also contributed to the kit that will be used....
Each month different Deco-Pages.com Designers host the challenge (Oct. is Jen Hanson!) with a specific set of colors they choose. They make a starter kit that goes in the store for $1.99 - a super deal and inexpensive way to support the site and designer a bit.
Here is a layout I made with Jen's kit for Oct - Flower Power... So cute!
But you can use any kit you like so long as the colors match the challenge for the month. :) Then you can earn rewards for participation. Reward 1 for making 1 layout, Reward 2 for making 3 layouts, and Reward 3 for making 5 layouts.
Here is what is in store for Nov. 2008 -- Click images to view larger previews. :)

I'm thankful for the little things that each day brings: the sweet hugs and kisses I get from my kids when they greet me in the morning; the loving smile and warm embrace my husband gives me; that hot cup of coffee.
I'm thankful for all that God has given me: His love, my life, my family, my job, my talents, my skills.
I'm thankful for having discovered the joys of scrapbooking and for the wonderfully designed digital kits that make preserving memories and all the the things I'm thankful for possible.
I'm thankful for my loving family and friends. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be sane!
I'm thankful for my daughter who brings so much sunshine and laughter in my life
After I read your post I sat here and pondered for a moment. I think most days I am aware of what I am thankful for, but to sit and think about it and put it into words really is great.
I am thankful for my family above all else. I was blessed with a very large family (8 brothers and sisters, and 34 nieces and nephews...so far..lol). Each day I spend with my nieces and nephews I am thankful for all of the little lessons I learn from them.
I am thankful for my mom, who is the strongest person I know. I am thankful that when I was a child and times were tough she never gave up..she never looked back..always to the future.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband who is loving, dependable, and always working to make a better life for us. And, of course I can't leave out my 4 legged children Tucker (3 yr old Pug) and Bernie (3 yr old German Shepherd). I'm thankful for that smile and giggle they give me even on the worst of days.
hi dana. this time of year will always be special for me. on novemebr 21, 2007 i was in a near-fatal auto accident, which left me with a broken back. i needed 2 back surgeries, resulting in my back being fused 7 levels. doctors say i am a miracle to have survived the burst fracture of my spine, and even more miraculously, i could still walk afterwards. digital scrapping and designing has been my saving grace through all of this...i don't think i would have recovered so well without it. i am really looking forward to thanksgiving especially this year, because i missed it last year, as i was in a hospital bed not allowed to eat (my first missed thanksgiving ever!). thanks for having this challenge...i love sharing my story and you can read more about me on my personal blog.

Thanks to everyone who took time to post to my little challenge for the Nov. CC. Your comments were so amazing and thoughtful. I will be giving you all the CC starter kit. :D
But I have jury duty tomorrow... and depending on how long whatever case I get (if any) lasts, I will get you the download links asap.
Please be sure you have emailed me, so I can send you the links!!
:D

Hi Dana,
Just came across your blog and the challenge at Deco-pages. Your kit Pumpkin Spice looks great. Can't wait to play along.
I am thankful for my wonderful family. My life would not be complete without them.
Hope jury duty wasnt too long for you.
Have a great day.

Every morning when I wake, I am thankful that I know the value of every day I am given with my family. I have felt the loss of precious family members several times in the last few years, several members of my family are in ill health, and it just serves to make every moment with them, more precious. I am glad for every good day they have.
But, I am thankful for the things that have nothing to do with people. God gives us beauty all around, if we are just open to seeing it. I have looked at a blossom and a leaf and wondered at God's marvelous detail in his creations. When a breeze blows across my face, I am amazed at how you can find simple enjoyment from something you cannot even see.
We have a new litter of kittens, and they are a reminder that all life is precious.
Every night, I am thankful all over again for the contentment my husbands heartbeat beneath my cheek brings before I drift off to sleep.
